Product description: AVAPRO (irbesartan) is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes nephropathy. AVAPRO (irbesartan) may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
AVAPRO (irbesartan) is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is used, sometimes together with other blood pressure medications
AVAPRO (irbesartan) is also used to treat kidney problems as a result of diabetes type 2 (non-insulin dependent).

Drug dosage: Avapro Take exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to explain them. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Avapro may be taken with or without food. Your doctor may want to monitor your blood pressure or do other tests to the effects of this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor approves. If you stop taking your medication, your condition may worsen. Keep Avapro at room temperature away from heat and moisture.
As soon as you remember, take the missed dose. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, wait and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medication.
In case of an overdose, seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose of Avapro are not well known, but it may cause dizziness.
