Side Effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, irbesartan can cause a condition that ends up in the breakdown of muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. Call your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, feel pain, muscle weakness or feeling especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark urine. Call your doctor immediately in the following situations:
- If you are feeling light-headed.
- If you are urinating less than usual or not at all.
- If you are feeling drowsiness, confusion, mood swings, increased thirst, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting.
- If you are experiencing weight gain, feeling short of breath it.
Less serious side effects may include:
- diarrhea;
- heartburn, upset stomach;
- mild dizziness, or
- If you are feeling tired.
